Travel privately from Marrakech to Fes on a four-day journey through the High Atlas Mountains, historic kasbahs, dramatic valleys and the Erg Chebbi dunes. An additional day around Merzouga allows more time to experience the Sahara and its local communities before continuing north to Fes.

Day by day
Leave Marrakech and cross the High Atlas Mountains by the Tizi n’Tichka Pass, stopping for panoramic views along the way. Visit the fortified village of Ait Ben Haddou, continue through Ouarzazate, Skoura and the Valley of Roses, then spend the night in the Dades Valley.
Travel past oasis towns and palm groves to the impressive Todra Gorge, with time to walk beneath its high canyon walls. Continue toward Merzouga, cross the Erg Chebbi dunes by camel near sunset and spend the night in a Sahara camp according to your confirmed accommodation option.
Spend a fuller day discovering the surroundings of Erg Chebbi. Depending on local conditions and your chosen program, visit Khamlia for Gnawa music, meet communities living near the dunes, enjoy the desert landscapes and have lunch in the area before returning to your hotel or riad in Merzouga.
Leave the Sahara after breakfast and travel north through the Ziz Valley, stopping for its palm-filled panorama. Continue via Midelt and the Middle Atlas, with possible stops in Azrou’s cedar forest and Ifrane, before arriving at your accommodation in Fes.
